Could this replace, and work as well as lifting weights?

If I put my left arm in my right hand, pushed down really hard with my left arm, and tried to lift if (like you would lift weights) with your right arm. Could that be just like lifting weights? (I am asking because I dont have dumbbells)Could this replace, and work as well as lifting weights?
You most likely just be tiring your arms and not building muscle.Could this replace, and work as well as lifting weights?
its called isometrics and is not nearly as effective as weight training
nah man just goto a walmart,target,or sports stores and buy them or buy resistances bands there work as same as dumbells but i really recommend u goto walmart and get the 15 dollar resistance bands there tree colors in that package theres Black(hard) Blue(medium) Pinkish (soft)

you probably have things at home you could use.
