Does this prove prayer works?

http://www.thestar.com/News/GTA/article/…

This guy won the lottery and prayed to God daily that if he won, he'd share his prize. Now he's doing it.Does this prove prayer works?
I prayed to God that He'd give me enough wisdom and intelligence to become an Atheist, and He granted me my prayer.Does this prove prayer works?
No, because playing the lottery is a sin and I don't think GOD would answer that prayer, but on the other hand he is in control of everything and he will only give to those that help themselves. So, I am kinda on the fence about this one!
those who believe in prayer would say this is proof and those who don't would say this is coincidence. you can't ';prove'; prayer works any more than you can prove other spiritual and religious things.
And did you know that EVERY person who has ever eaten a tomato has died or will die within 90 years! True fact!
If everybody who prays wins, and nobody else does, then you might have something.
Considering the number of people who win lotteries without prayer, I'm gonna have to say no. Good to see he's sharing the winnings though.

Especially now that obscene wealth is a sin, apparently.
No dear.

It's a proven fact that prayer is delusional and achieves nothing at all...
So by your logic if someone who didn't pray won the lottery then it disproves God because surely there's someone among the thousands of lottery ticket holders who ';prayed'; to win.

Put a lottery ticket in the church collection bin and see if God chooses that one. If he does, then just imagine how rich and powerful the church will become, as a donated ticket from each lottery goes to God's house to do God's work. It would be a lot cheaper than putting in a 20 dollar bill, and it would benefit the church a million times more. If you think that you need to pray for that individual ticket to win, then you can do that also.
I don't know if you saw this show on VH1 that was called ';Curse of the lottery'; or something like that. One man won I think about 35 mil if I'm right or I think more. His family was very religious. They helped people from church that were in need and debt. The family started breaking up because of family problems and changes in the man. He ended up separating from his family and living on his own.

He ended up shooting himself in the head with a shotgun in his wife's bedroom, and left a note apologizing to his family. Do you think God answered his prayer?
NO. Where is the control group?
if that was the case everybody would pray to him for that
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jk6ILZAaA… no but this may.
I think we all know the answer to that question......the lama said hi to the MONKEY first NOT the hotdog....DUH!
I believe so.

Not only did he pray, but he made a promise to God.

And if he kept his promise, then that was good.

-Luke 16:10

';Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.
Once again, correlation does not equal causation. Prayer had nothing to do with it.
NO
No.

Enough said.
nope.
i'm pretty sure gambling is a sin, so no.
Not until I get money, from the check.
pure coincidence.
that was consistency and luck.
the Bible says ';Every good and perfect gift comes down from Heaven.';
no
Aw, this story is touching.

But no, obviously not.
it does prove that he's a totally cool guy, keeping his word to share it if he won it.

God bless him!
i'll pray that he mails me some..

God, i hope it works!
We get lucky sometimes...but I don't see how that serves as a ';proof'; that prayers work.
God does not grant selfish requests. That is not a prayer, more like wishing on a star or throwing a penny in a well. Prayers are to ask God for strength to assist you in helping yourself.
no
He just got lucky.
